Saying Goodnight to a General in the Faith

RESPECT - HONOR - BEWILDERMENT

The three words above describe what I felt when I received the call that Dr. Myles Monroe and members of his staff, including pilots, died in a crash on Sunday, November 9, 2014.

Of course, as a Minister and long time student of the Word, thoughts ran rampant through my mind. I had a lot of "before you conclude" moments that I had to discipline to sideline themselves until details and facts were presented. I draw your attention to a letter that was forwarded to Terry McFadden-Solomon from an insider of the Bahamas Faith staff. Her detailed account straightened out a lot of innuendo and gave a factual account of both the occurrence and and Dr. Monroe's last thoughts and actions. This invaluable piece of information provides us an opportunity to celebrate this departure amid the horror of how it happened.

the prevailing thought appears to be: "if this can happen to a consecrated man like Dr Monroe, what chance to I have?" We all have out path in life. We operate in a myriad of grace and assignment. The fact that he gave a prophesy of an impending occurrence and was impressed to prepare his own obituary has tremendous significance. Please note: "A month ago Dr. Munroe prophesied on a radio talk show that in the next month this nation will be shaken by the death of a very prominent leader and that person's death will have an impact on the entire nation."

He also reportedly wrote his own obituary and remarked these statements in a message to the congregants on Sunday, November 9, 2014. The insider writes: "When he returned a week ago he was on another talk show and said he has already written his obituary and that it something we all should do, because it helps you to know what you have and have not yet accomplished.  That's not the first time he's made that statement in our midst too."

I have admonished my heart to stay focused on the God that Dr. Monroe and his Kingdom revelation gave to the Body of Christ. I have set my heart to give the most adamant praise to Creator and to extol His Holiness! I am determined that Scripture is valid and that the most precious part of this entire scenario is "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!" 2 Corinthians 5:6, 8. This is such an awesome opportunity to demonstrate the maturing Body in this earth.

The Word did not say we do not grieve. It specifically states that we are not strung out in the process of releasing loved ones with an hopelessness 1 Thess 4:13. Emphasis: we have biblical permission to release loved ones, but are strongly encouraged not to behave as if we have NO hope!  As a result of the foregoing statements, our posture in times such as this is to release Dr Myles, Pastor Pinder, and others who took flight Sunday evening to forever be with the Lord! 1 Thess 4:17

May the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ be real to you. May your faith grow stronger that you are in His safe hold and that He loves you without you having to impress Him or earn His benevolence!
